Welcome to Glad in God!

One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple. — Psalm 27:4

If I could summarize the whole of the Christian life into one overarching pursuit, I believe it could be “to gaze on the beauty of the Lord.”

Everything we are as Christians — happy, loving, persevering, sanctifying, holy — comes from our all-satisfying beholding of God. None of this happens if we do not see God as beautiful and delight in that sight.

Thus, when my joy grows dim, I ask one thing. When the tempter approaches, I ask one thing. When the world oppresses, I ask one thing. When I lose my sight, I ask one thing.

So, I make this my one pursuit: “to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord.” Nothing is more pleasing than to do so, and when we do, God will align our hearts with his beauty again.
